Dear Parents:
Our unit for the month of March will be focused on food and good eating habits. Through the exploration of nutritional education, students will learn the importance of healthy food choices. Using the theme of nutrition we plan to develop a unit that focuses on student outcomes from all subject areas.
Throughout this unit students will have the opportunity to explore food choices from each of the different food groups. They will discover the vast variety of foods and where they come from, dramatize a restaurant scenario, including costumes, menu, prices dialogues, and restaurant signs. As well, they will acquire new Spanish vocabulary related to the task. We have designed a variety of learning centers that will promote and foster new and ongoing developmental skills.
For our St. Patrick’s Day celebration we will be making arts and crafts, learning about the origins of the day through stories while recognizing and identifying many of the symbols that represent this day. We will introduce the spring theme, and continue with it during the month of April.
Weeks
From March 2nd to March 31st

Is spring in Canada like it is in other countries?
